A letter to my 15 year old self….

 

Dear 15 year old Jacquie,

It is me.. or should I say it is you.. your “old” self! Yes you are almost 32 and yes you have grey hair!! No life does not stop at 30 and no you don’t have it all together and have a million dollars in the bank! ūüôā

First off and most importantly… I have to tell you.. you will have a beautiful little daughter..¬†She is so sweet.. so funny.. and you will absolutely adore¬†her! I know what you are thinking… and yes Jacquie you ARE a good mom! Don’t let fear dictate your life. Know that she will come into your world and change EVERYTHING.. ¬†and the day you give birth to her you will believe in God again.. ¬†Know that you will have a husband..¬†who is an amazing dad and loves that little girl just as much as you do… and would do anything for you.

Secondly.. know that you will experience so much more in the next 15 years than you ever imagined. Stop rushing to grow up and just enjoy being a teenager! You don’t need to solve everything.. you don’t need to be anyone’s back bone.. you don’t have to figure it all out and take care of adult problems yet. Be a kid! ¬† Also, listen to Dad… I know you don’t want to hear that but listen to him.. he has been through a lot and one day you will realize he deserves more respect than you are giving him. Being a parent isn’t easy, it is a lot of work and you don’t see that now but you will.

Know¬†that there will come a day that you will find peace with yourself. You will be at peace with your body and your mind. Know that it is OK ¬†to not be a size 2 and that food is NOT¬†the enemy. ¬†Not eating is not a sign of strength but a sign of weakness.¬†The temporary power you feel from starvation is not actually power but it is you at your absolute weakest and know that YOU have the ability to pull yourself out and you do! Believe in yourself more.. trust that you know what makes you happy and that you know what is right and wrong.. don’t forget who you are! This constant struggle you are dealing with will be over one day. One day you will meet a group of ladies that will lift you up.. that will help you find balance.. yes balance! You will.. please trust me.. you will not always be fighting yourself with food. You won’t be crying over how you look.. life is so much bigger than what you see right now. Allow yourself the time to figure that out.

Lastly.. know that you will have a lot of rough moments too.. but you will get through them. That it is OK to fall apart because you know how to put yourself back together.  Know that you will never forget Helen.. I know you fear you will.. but you wont!  The pain will not be as bad as it is right now.. you will learn to move on in life and the anger you feel now will go away.  Trust yourself.. you are smarter than you think!

P.S You never will get over your fear of spiders.. sorry this one stays.. and will stay.. but you will learn that hairspray and a shoe are the perfect combo! Oh and sharks.. that one sticks too..

Chocolate Covered Banana Shakeology

20160423_094309 So this morning I wanted to switch up my usual Shakeology!

I normally drink the Chocolate Shakeology but I wanted to use my vanilla stash today.

This recipe is sooo good and it is chocolatey but not so much as the normal chocolate Shakeology.  It hit the spot today for sure!

My first week of 22 Minute Hard Corps Review

So I have completed 1 week of 22 Minute Hard Corps workouts and the nutrition plan.. here is what I can say… it is a kick butt workout, that will make you sweat, get your heart rate up and leave you feelingFB_IMG_1456940852143 like¬†you just pushed yourself hard! When I first put Cardio 1 on, I did have a moment where I thought I am not going to feel like I got a good workout in.. like how can I? It’s only 22 minutes?? I was wrong… way wrong! Tony Horton has the perfect combo of moves to keep you moving, push your limits and get it done.

With that said, one thing I love about Tony Horton is that he always provides modifiers, so if I was struggling or running out of gas there was always a modifier to follow so I could finish the program.

I enjoy how in this program Tony is more of a motivator and walks around and points things out instead of doing the moves. For anyone that has done any of his other programs, he normally does all the moves but this time he has his cast doing the demo’s and he is talking. I will say I feel like he cut back on a bit of his chit chat as well. It still has some classic Tony humor but he is not as chatty as he is in P90X.

22 Minute Hard Corps! *** New Program and Test Group***

I am so freaking excited for this program!! 22 Minute Hard Corps is brought to you by none other than Tony Horton, who is the creator of the amazing P90X series of workout programs. He is one of my favorite trainers!

So here is what it is:

  • 22 minute long workouts- boot camp, basic moves, designed for you to get in and get out!
  • 8 workout routines– combination of cardio, core and resistance training (3 additional routines if you get the deluxe kit!)
  • It is an 8 week program, with workouts scheduled 6 days a week, but HELLO its 22 minutes!? No excuses people!
  • It has an easy to follow nutrition plan that follows the same guideline as 21 Day Fix in that it is based around portion control and number of portions per each food group.
  • One thing I love about Tony Horton is how real he is, and he has used real military Veterans in these videos. ¬†No actors!

Easy Home Workout Circuit

If you are looking for an easy home workout that will also leave you good and sweaty.home workout circuit

If you want more of a challenge, instead of jumping jacks try star jumps! It is more of a plyo metric move and will up the intensity level. If you need to tone it down, just step out to each side and do the low impact version of a jumping jack! Make it your own. Turn  on your music and burn some calories!!

 

 

What is a Beachbody Coach

What is a Beachbody coach?! This is a question that I love to answer because I love coaching!

So here is what a Beachbody coach IS!

  • Someone who is passionate about health, fitness, and nutrition.
  • Someone who loves to help people and support people.
  • Someone who is looking to start a home business based on helping people get fit in the comfort of their homes.
  • Someone who is willing to learn
  • Someone who wants to be a part of a team that all works together
  • Someone who wants to travel!

Here is what a Beachbody coach is NOT!

  • Someone who has reached their fitness goals- you do NOT need to have reached your goals to coach! You can motivate and support others while you are working on YOU! It is a beautiful thing.
  • Someone who is a social media expert- you do NOT need to be a social media expert but you must be willing to learn!

When I started coaching I had no idea what to expect.  I am not a personal trainer. I am not a nutritionist. I am a full time working mom! I am like so many other people juggling all of what life throws at us.

I am a supporter. I am a friend. I am someone who  will  listen. I share my own journey and work with my challengers to reach our goals. It has helped me supplement my income while continuing on my own fitness journey!  I have been able to travel and meet the other members of my team! I have made friendships with like minded individuals and I belong to an AMAZING team!

What is a challenge group?!

So you may be wondering what is a challenge group?!!  So I am going to give you the breakdown. PicsArt_1455397465403

It is a private Facebook group, where people just like you that are working on health and fitness, will come together to provide support and accountability. Each day, as your coach, I will post in the group about various topics, and also each day everyone checks in! So how did you do that day!? You will self assess your day on 4 topics: Food, Exercise, Water and Shakeology!

Each member of the group will be using an easy at home workout program and also each member of the group will be using Shakeology which is an amazing, delicious, superfood meal replacement! It is a game changer and it is a key piece of the nutrition plan for each Beachbody workout program.

The benefits to these groups include increased knowledge about the products that you are using, as well as you will be accountable for your journey, which means you are more likely to stick to the program!! The group will provide the support so that you can be consistent and finish the program! As well as you will meet some amazing people, and make some great new friends!

Why Shakeology?

2016-01-03 10.31.10I get asked the question a lot.. why Shakeology? That stuff is expensive isn’t it?

Here is the truth.. yes it is not cheap, but it isn’t meant to be cheap! I started Shakeology in October and I bought my first bag as part of a challenge pack. I thought I will try it with my 4 week program and do the group with all the challengers and then I am going to cancel. I was dead set that I couldn’t afford it and I would definitely be cancelling.

So the first time I tried it I was pleasantly surprised. It was pretty good! It tasted sweet and I had saw all these cool recipes people were doing so I gave some of them a try. They all tasted amazing. Then I started to notice how I felt. I felt better. I had more energy. I wasn’t as bloated as I used to be. My sugar cravings had decreased. My skin and hair have improved.

The big thing for me is that it is filling! I have it for breakfast and I am not hungry or on a sugar low 1 hour later. I have had other shakes before but all of them left me hungry and about an hour later my sugar was crashing.

Shakeology has a low glycemic index so it is perfect for people with any kind of sugar issues, whether it be diabetes or hypoglycemia.

It has been clinically proven to lower cholesterol, lower and control blood sugars as well as aid in weight loss.

It sets the tone for the whole entire day when I start with my Shakeology. It is the first thing I put into my body and I know in the first 30 minutes of my day I am ready to rock and push and reach for  my goals!

Lets face it, the hardest part for most people about losing weight is the nutrition. Shakeology takes the guess work out of one of your meals.

I am not going to sit here and discredit the fact that it costs money. It does! ¬†I have had to make some sacrifices in order to continue to drink Shakeology and reap the benefits it is providing me. I no longer stop at Tim’s every morning !I have cancelled my gym membership because hell I don’t need it anymore now that I have Beachbody on Demand, and I have cut back on all my eating out that I was doing.

Welcome to my Blog!

Well this is a new endeavor for me! I am starting a blog to document my health and fitness journey.

I have a passion for living a balanced life and being a good role model for my daughter. I want to be healthy and strong!

I have been doing Beachbody programs for the past 4 years off an on. I have recently been doing them consistently and I have developed a new, healthier relationship with food as a result of the 21 Day Fix program.

A lot of people have asked me why I am coaching, why I am blogging, why I have a Facebook page and the answer is this. I believe in these programs and the challenge groups. I believe in them because I know they work and they work in more ways than just one. It has changed my mental outlook on not only my body but on my life.

When I do my workouts, eat healthy, and drink my Shakeology I feel good! I have more patience when I am at work, more patience with my daughter and I feel better about life.

I want to help others through this journey and I want company on my own journey. We are stronger together than we are apart.
